The Dome was filled up and history was made on 31st October 2015


Too often we are discouraged to chase our dreams because we are scared of failure and people telling you the possibilities of why you should not chase your dreams. An artist named Cassper Nyovest has always had a dream of performing live to his fans at a venue that can hold 20 000 capacity of people full at Ticket Pro Dome without the help of an international act because no one in South Africa has ever done it before. He spoke life into his dream every day, no matter how many people discouraged him thinking that he lost his mind, he chose not to let anyone or anything get in the way of his dream coming true.  
           
South Africans did not hesitate to support him, politicians and celebrities like Fikile Mbalula, Julius Malema, Euphonik and many more were there to witness the greatness that Cassper is. On 31st October 2015, history was made that the venue was filled to capacity and filled people’s hearts and minds with courage to do more in life and that you can do whatever you put your mind and heart to.

The advantages that come with this event is that the hashtag #FillUpTheDome that was written and spread out to his audiences allowed more viewership and awareness of the event, it was also easy to excess people through the hashtag because people started interacting into the topic and wanted to be part of it as it was talked about, I think it was the easiest way to invite people and another way to target your audiences so specifically.  
                                                                                                  
Brands that sponsored the event like AG Mobile and BP took advantage of the event to gain that extra glory for their brand and brand awareness, but also the beauty of it is that they saw potential in someone’s idea and were willing to help Cassper achieve his dream. And he was given an opportunity to produce an exclusive cell phone of himself.
                                                        
The event was talked about for the whole two weeks and people could not believe the great work and energy that was put in. almost every radio station was talking about it every day but I feel that the print media did not talk about it enough because Cassper does his own record label.
                                            
Personally, I believe that social media enables greater interaction for its publics and an organization, through it you can communicate quickly and swiftly, and it is able to reach wider demographic of publics. I do not think the event would have been a success without the help of social media.

I must say, #FillUpTheDome is a perfect example of making a dream come true. Cassper did it all on his own. From a high school dropout to making a success out of a dream, Cassper deserves all the credit.
